Church Officers
The Session
In the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Session is elected
by the congregation and is responsible for the governance of
each parish church according to the directives in the Book
of Order. At present,
the Session consists of 18 elders serving a term of three
years. Six members are elected annually by the congregation
to replace the six whose terms have expired. The Session is
structured with five
specific ministries with several committees under each
ministry. The pastors also serve as members of the Session.
These are listed on the back side of the Sunday worship
bulletins.

The Diaconate
The Deacons are responsible for assisting the membership
and pastors with the pastoral care needs of the
congregation. Currently, there are 12 deacons, four of whom
are elected to replace those whose three-year terms have expired.
Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry is primarily a ministry of listening,
Christian caregiving and support. It is a one-on-one
relationship with someone who is experiencing ill health,
emotional stress, life
changes, death of a loved one, loss of employment or other
overwhelming situations. The ministry is grounded in Jesus’
command to love one another (John 13: 34-35). Please speak
to one of the pastors for access to a Stephen Minister.
The Trustees
Trustees are elected by the congregation to serve in the
management of the corporate affairs of the church. These
include such matters as those related to property and the
oversight of special funds of the church. Trustees act in
cooperation with
and under the authority of the Session. |
